On September 23 the Men of OSU rugby met for their first practice to get our fall started. It looks like we will have 25-35 players on the team with players joining from France, Spain and Samoa that I know of. I was impressed with the new blood and the strong returning class of Juniors to push to be the best we can be. Troy Hall is on board to coach and teach these boys about what it means to be an OSU rugby player and a good human being. Troy will have Winston McCollough, John Mead, Trevor da Silva and Douglas Breitmeyer on the coaching staff. I think these guys are all great guys and will help us continue to chase excellence on and off the field. Below I have attached a pic of the first group and some video's from this year President and leadership team member. I have also linked an audio of Coach Troys first impression after our first practice.

With the world cup happening in Tokyo my wife sent me this twitter clip reminding us of the tour of Wales, Scotland and England back in the fall of 86. Such a great experience with so many good mates. I hope all of you are finding some great ways to enjoy this world cup! Whether your are an Eagle's fan or a fan of another country from around the world its a great time to be a rugby fan! Two of our coaches John Mead and Trevor de Silva have been in Japan and I am looking forward to hearing some first hand stories of the experience they are having when they return to Oregon. FYI The ORSU leadership has worked with Kells Irish pub to air many of the games. I plan on being their for a noon airing of the Eagles vs France this Wednesday. I know they have a much bigger schedule they are airing so feel free to call the Kells on NW 21st for more details.
